Playing 38mm balls

Hello Pingskills.
Some people I play from time to time with still play with 38 mm ball. I told them that it's not standard now but they say that they like it better so I play with them too. It's more difficult to beat them. Is there any differences between playing with 40mm and 38 mm balls? Does playing with 38mm ball actually make me better then standard ball players?

Hi Pavel,
There is a slight difference with playing with the 38mm ball. The ball just goes a very little bit faster.
As far as technique goes, not much changes.
I don't think playing with the 38mm ball will make you better.I think it will just alter your timing a little. it won't affect you too much, so if that is the best hit you can get go for it.
