Strategy
Hello sir,
Greeting,
I am Akash from India and i have been a great fan of your website n service towards teaching table tennis.
I am playing table tennis from past eight-nine months. One of my friends continuously randomly across the table sometimes my backhand side then forehand side. This is becoming a big issue since he makes me to quickly lose my control and balance.
how to play against him? so that he wont b able to place ball here and there?
Hi Akash,
If you place the ball to the middle of the table he will not be able to get such wide angles.
The other thing you can do, is that if he plays the ball wide, play it back even wider on the same diagonal. This will limit the options of where he can put the next ball. It will be difficult for him to play the ball down the line.
In this video, we share 2 essential tips that can instantly improve your doubles play whether you're just starting out or already competing in matches.
🏓 Tip 1: Learn why playing more shots down the line helps your partner stay in position and how a well-timed cross-court attack can still surprise your opponents.
🏓 Tip 2: Discover the power of serving short and close to the centre line to reduce your opponents’ attacking options and give your team the advantage.
These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.

thank you sir for the tip.
one more thing that i would like to ask is that does it really matters that we have two different rubbers on both sides of our paddle?
i mean like if i am using a custom bat with rubbers of same specifications both sides that ll be better or different rubbers ?
Hi Akash,
To start with I think it is easier to use the same rubbers but then as you progress and find your style, most players use slightly different rubbers even if it is just different thicknesses.
