hey alois!
i wanted to ask you a question which i find really hard! PIMPLED RUBBERS......... i wanted to ask you how to face the ones with pimpled rubbers..... today i actually had a tournament.... and i lost with a guy who had a pimpled rubber on his racket..... whenever he did a chop and i did a chop on it too it always went up and outside the table..... can you please tell me how to play against that guy...... and one more question.... how do i play a ball which comes inside the table? like, slow with a chop and near the net.... it dosent even come outside the table!
Thanks a lot!!
Hi Sarthak,
Sounds like you weren't reading the spin on the ball. Remember the pimples can't generate much spin them selves. Also, when you push the ball to the pimple it will come back with topspin. That is why the next ball was going up in the air.
The best thing is to attack that next ball with a topspin or counterhit.
If the ball comes back short with some backspin, then the best thing to do is to make a Push.

yeah but whenever he was doing a chop it was really low, fast and on the backhand.... so when i was doing a counter hit it always went on the net and whenever i was doing a topspin it went out or it was hitting the net.
Hi Srathak,
Try to practice this stroke. It is an important part of improving. Just focus on brushing the ball with topspin. If you do this well then the ball will have a good trajectory and dip onto the table after going over the net. If you play too flat the ball is likely to go into the net or off the end.
