Strokes
my friend and i were curious about his backhand stroke against simon gerada and we call it the "the muscle stroke"because you are like flexing your muscle.
how can you execute that move
please show me a video
Hi Martin,
Take a look at the lesson we have on the Backhand Topspin Against Block. This will also show you that Jeff finishes in the same 'muscle' position. It is a good way of thinking about the finish position for the backhand topspin.
Chop blocks can be deceptive and frustrating — but with the right technique, you can take control.
In this newly updated version of our original video, we break down:
✔ How chop blocks differ from standard blocks
✔ Why timing is crucial when countering
✔ How to adjust your stroke to lift and loop effectively

This wouldn't be had an amazing shot. If Simon would have returned it
Yes, but I think that the fact that SImon wasn't able to return it shows how good the shot was.

He just got confused....what type of stroke can be used to return it
Probably a block with a bit of sidespin. It takes a lot of touch and class to be able to return a ball like that. You are right though, Simon was surprised by the shot.

Shades of Smythe circa 1995. And yes most of the time his unpredictability was based on having one eye closed. Great post guys.
