hello I have been playing shake hand grip for quite sometime now although I have not not improved at all I am still not to good but recently I have changed to pen hold and have had quite a bit more luck and better all together so I would like to keep playing with this grip but my racket is just a normal one should I consider getting a new one with a pen hold grip or does it not matter so much.

Hi Sean,

Initially it won’t matter too much, especially as you are starting to get the feel of the grip.

Later you can think about purchasing a specific Penhold blade which basically just has a shorter handle.

I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
