if i was to make my own penhold blade out of an old straight shakehand blade how much handle would i have to cut off just wondering because i want a new penhold blade but i dont have the money right now

Hi Dayton,
You don't need to cut too much off. In fact you don't have to cut any off if you just want to experiment with it. After that you can see how much of the handle is above your grip.
