Hi coach

I am an avid admirer of your tutorials, they give a great insight into the secrets of how to develop your game.

I would class myself as an intermediate player, played a lot in school days but have never played at a club and generally tend to play for fun with friends at work.

I am a Penhold player and have mastered the Reverse Penhold Backhand just by watching your tutorial (although lots of room for improvement), and my loops are OK (although I hate it when they don't stay on the table. We only play with standard high street bats, so I would now like to purchase a bat that can carry my game forward.

I would love to purchase one of the bats you have in your Shop but they are not Penhold types; do you expect to sell these in the future or can you recommend a website and bat for me?

Thanks very much

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your comments.  I don't think we will go into Penhold bats as equipment isn't really something that we focus on.  We really sell bats for those that are confused by the multitude of options out there.  We just try to simplify the process for them.

As far as a recommendations for a penhold bat, I don't have a good one but perhaps a few readers could help us out.

I am a penhold player as well. And just my 2 cents but the best bat I have came across which I did purchase the Juic Iseki Carbon Penhold. I absolutely LOVE the feel of it and I have Mark 5 rubber on each side. Has great power and nice control and spin. You can view a lot more on Paddlepalace.com if you wanna look around

Thanky you for you comments.

Just thought I would let you know.

I have decided on the YASAKA EXTRA CH.PEN €24.92 with Yasaka MARK V rubbers €26.58 from http://www.tabletennis11.com/.

Is this a good combination?

Hi Phil,

The Yasaka Extra blades are suitable and you can't go wrong with Mark V.  Good choices.

Hi Tim,

The tackiness of a rubber is personal preference.  Just see what feels best for you.
