hi sir,

these are the conclusions i have got after i had done a study on the penhold and shakehand grip. please tell me if iam right.

PENHOLD

ADVANTAGES.

*STRONGER FOREHAND

*REVERSE PENHOLD TOPSPIN HAS SIDESPIN

*MORE SPIN

*MORE WRIST FLEXIBILITY

DISADVANTAGES

*BACKHAND IS WEAK IF YOU USE KOREAN JAPANESE BACKHAND

*YOU HAVE A CROSSOVERPOINT IF YOU USE THE REVERSE PENHOLD

*YO HAVE A CROSSOVER POINT BETWEEN WHETHER TO USE KOREAN JAPANESE BACKHAND OR REVERSE PENHOLD.

*LESS COCHES TEACHING THIS GRIP.

*CANNOT EASILY DO A TOPSPIN WITHOUT SIDESPIN IN REVERSE PENHOLD.

SHAKEHAND GRIP

ADVANTAGE

*PROVIDES EQUAL POWER FOR FOREHAND AND BACKHAND.

*MAJORITY OF COACH TEACH THIS GRIP.

*CAN PLAY AN ALL ROUND GAME.

DISADVANTAGES

*HAS A CROSSOVER POINT

THANK YOU!

Hi Hari,

You have a pretty good summary there.

The RPB with sidespin could be an advantage and a disadvantage.

The sidespin will mean that you can't hit the ball as fast as if you had pure topspin because it is the topspin that brings the ball down quickly.
