Hi guys :) I started to learn penhold a few moths ago... I've already learned the reverse backhand. So i ask.... Is it possible to do a reverse forehand? Then, do you know some way to train this skill(penhold) without table? or is this impossible?
Thanks a lot xD

Hi Eddy,

You must be a quick learner to be able to do the Reverse Penhold. As for the revers forehand I haven't seen it done in matches, but why not give it a try and see if it si effective.  You may start a revolution.

Training penhold is the same as training shakehand without a table.  It is limited to some basics that we have outlined in our lesson on Practicing Alone.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
