I am very excited to get better, but when I try a pendulum serve, it is not working. How do I do this?

The ball doesn't spin...
OK. Think first about getting the contact right on the ball. Do this away from the table if you need to to get the feel of the contact without the table getting in the way.
Then as you get the feel, move to the table and still focusing on the contact try to do a few more serves.
