Equipment
Hi, I'm trying to help a friend find a new table tennis bat fitting these requirements: (preferably in the USA)
-1.5-2.0mm rubber
-smooth inverted pips on one side, long pips on other
-40% backspin, 20% topspin, 20% speed, 20% control
The problem is that I am having trouble finding a paddle with 2 different rubbers, and this is crucial. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris,
If want to have a different rubber on the backhand and forehand then you will need to get a custom made Table Tennis bat. You will need to buy the blade and both rubbers seperately and then glue the rubbers onto the bat. There are heaps of online Table Tennis stores where you can purchase a custom made bat like this.
Currently at PingSkills we don't have much of a range for custom made bats however over the next few months we will be adding a lot more blades and equipment to our online store.
If anyone has any suggestions on a blade and the type of rubber for Chris then please leave a comment.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
