I've been playing for a little while and learned to loop, however, I find that I over tense my grip during my loop shots. This sometimes works great on powershots, but I am having trouble with getting tired during looping. I tried concentrating on loosening the grip during the loop, but when I do this, I loose the focus of the ball. When I focus on the ball, I grip the bat too strong again.

I am wondering if you have a great piece of advice for how to loosen up the grip and play more relaxed. I found relaxed shots to be more consistent and spinnier. On the other hand, tenser grip shots are faster.

Hi Alex,

Tension is a big problem.

You need to spend a lot of time during your practice on focusing totally on the amount of tension in your arm.  Do this during practice rather than in a match because it is hard to watch the ball when you are focusing on the tension.  It is calle dtension testing, and something that you shoul ddo during each practcie sesison anyway. You can often do it during your warm up hitting.

Start with the grip and your shoulder.  these are usually the two worst parts.  Toally focus ton this fo a few minutes.  Try not to worry about where the ball is going, but only on the amount of tension in your arm.

You may feel that you can hit the ball faster with a tighter grip, but I guarantee you that if you relax your grip and your arm, you will start to hit the ball faster.
