Training
Hi Alois and Jeff,
Do you any technique to overcome the crossover point? i have got the answers for my questions asked earlier i like your answers very much. i have started working on what you told me to.
Hi Harikrishnan,
You can do some practice drills to help you with the crossover point. The most basic exercise to help with this is to get your training partner to play one ball to your backhand and then one ball to your forehand. You should play each ball back to your opponents backhand.
This drill will help you get used to switching between the backhand and forehand. Once you are comfortable with this you can do some similar drills to help you improve in this area. Some ideas include playing on ball to the backhand and then one to the middle. Another drill could be playing one ball to the middle followed by a ball to either the backhand or forehand.
We cover a lot of useful exercises and explain why they are helpful in our DVD Training Secrets Revealed.
In this training plan we put together all of the different returns we've learnt and focus on producing an effective return. You should be aiming to topspin all long serves and then weighing up your options on the short serve. A good short push is a great option but you also need some variation with either a flick or a long fast push. Go out and put this training plan into action and work on improving your return.
