Strokes
I have a very close to the table attacking game but i am suffering when i get out of the table to counter spin.. what can be done so to improve in this reguard.. cheers
Hi Alex,
A couple of things to consider when playing a topspin stroke form behind the table are:
Use a big arm action. This is an exagerrated topspin stroke starting lower and finishing even higher than a normal topspin.
You can give the ball plenty of air.
Try and get the ball deep on your opponents side.
Practice this stroke a lot during practice sessions.
Hope this helps you.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
