Offensive returning off pushes

Hi 

when im rallying i play much better against people who i play with but when i play in a match it all goes wrong. i figured out its when i return a push, since im an offensive player i try to hit the backspin push long or short back but it doesnt work. should i :

a. work on my technique to get it on the table

b. push it back until a weaker push come

c. play less defensively and work on pushing

d. none of the above

Thanks for the multiple choice test...

I think I would pick 'a'.

Take a look at the lesson we have on the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  This is the stroke that you need to implement to take the attack.

It may take a little while to implement into your game but it would be worthwhile.

Text book info: Loop it if  its long.

Yeah i see where you coming from as i cant loop consistently and also effectively. Just practice bit by bit from weight transfer, contact and just focus on the stroke and you'll get there.
