Offensive Chop

Strokes

Hi there Alison,

Been playing for a while now. Recently I have started doing chops far back and low to ground, this genegates lots of back and sides spin and hard to return. This only happens on my forehand. Is it worth exploring if so any tips on how to make consistent or should I scrap the shot entirely?

Thanks

Harry

Hi Harry,

It is something that you can spend a little bit of time on but don't get too distracted with it.

Being in that position is not where you really want to be in a rally.  However, if you are back there, then a shot like that may get you out of a tight spot.

Banana Flick

The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.
