New to carbon advice

Equipment

Ho Aloise/Jeff I haven't asked a question in a while but I am enjoying the show and catching up with them again.

I would like to ask about advice, I usually play with stiga wooden blades but have recently purchased a carbon blade (timo boll spirit) I chose this because of the great reviews and to help my topspin style get to the next level, however I am struggling to adapt to the additional speed and stiffness of the blade, I am playing with exactly the same rubbers I am used to, tenergy 05 fx 2.1 which were ok on the wooden blade

Would you recommend I just stick with it until I adjust or go back to the old wooden blades?

Thanks guys.

Hi Matt,

I would stick with it for a couple of weeks at least and then see if you still feel the same way.  If you do then it would be best to go back to your wooden blade.

It is not to difficult to go back to an older blade but it is important that you give the new blade a proper try and allow time for adjustment.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
