Hi Alois,

I recently bought a bat at our nearest store, but i find the rubbers strange.  The rubber doesn't grip very much but has much power and control and it doesn't look like a pimples one, BTW i am an all around player.

Is it okay for me to use that racket for my game.  I want to do topspins.

Hi Leonardo,

It sounds like it is a basic bat.  The grip is one of the important things that helps you to improve your strokes especially topspins.

Use it for a little while and see if you can generate spin otherwise you may need to upgrade.

The racket we recommend as a first racket is the PingSkills Rook.

It may seem like an advanced bat but this is a basic bat that won't allow you to develop much.  This is something that is difficult to see when you first start but as you go further in the game you will see the better equipment that is available.

Hi Alois,

I love TT, but one thing that really intrigues me is that why are these rubbers so expensive?. Rubber is a cheap material unlike Gold right? Btw I am using Yasaka Mark V on both sides of Joola Blade and I am quite happy.

You are right they are very expensive.  I guess we are paying for the technology rather than the materials.
