Has the table tennis net ever been higher than 6 inches?

Hi Dale,

Not to my knowledge.  It has always been 6inches.  They have talked for a long tie about raising the height of the net but I don't think that will happen.

Doubles Serving Rules

In this video we go over the somewhat complicated rules of serving for doubles in table tennis. There are a couple of extra rules for doubles that you don't apply to singles. In doubles you always serve from the right hand box diagonally to your opponent's right hand box. Each player has 2 serves each. If you've just been receiving then it's your turn to serve next.

If the net height increases, the serve toss has to increase as well, right?

Not necessarily.

ITTF would lose money on this I guess :DD
Because exchanging balls is easy, because they crack, they get accidentally stomped on,they easily get lost etc.
But nets?
In my club, there were 2 nets for more than 20years and they do not seem to be damaged too much.
