Hi Judah,

I haven't noticed that.  Do you have any footage where you can show us this.

He does this because his fh rubber (Hurricane 3) is not as consistent to smash with compared to his bh rubber. His bh rubber (Tenergy 64) is much more easier and consistent to perform that kind of shot.

Mind you I've only seen him do this very rarely and only against people who can lob consistently such as Mizutani.

That explains why I'm having so much trouble smashing!  :O  (but maybe my technique has something to do with it as well...)

Not sure why he did this.  Sometimes it is just a habit that the players flip their rackets during a rally.

He does it often, I've seen him flip, then change his mind and flip one more time and smash with the Hurricane 3. He mostly only flips on very high balls like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOgfj9oHtP0. I guess just so his percentage of making the shot is better since Hurricane 3 doesn't smash as consistently as most rubbers do it's not as fast in a straight line either.

I've noticed this with all the chinese players. Its down to the hardness of the chinese rubbers. They hit it much faster with the tenergy
