What is the rule of thumb for when to use a loop and when to use a drive?

Hi Vincent,

A lot depends on the type of ball your opponent doesn't like.

Against a heavy backspin ball as well you are probably better to loop while against a higher blocked ball you are better to drive.

When you need to reach that really wide ball the regular shuffle step just won't get you there in time so you need to use the crossover step. This is essentially a running action to get you to the ball as fast as possible.
