It seems a common misconception that long pips reverse spin It seems to me they just return the spin in the same direction.

They definitely reverse. If they don't, and a chopped ball comes back with chop, then the player in question probably isn't using them properly...!

so you mean there will be no difference if my opponent will chop or will just block?
