Greetings from Panama PingSkills,

I would like to know what is the average lifetime of the rubbers? After a few months I'm starting to feel like my Topspin backhand isn't going over the net quite often as it was before and I know that my strokes and my technique has improved in those few months. At this point, Could i blame the rubbers?

I have a little bit more than six months breathing and eating Table Tennis.

Best regards,

Gerardo Gomez

Hi Gerardo,

Greetings to you in Panama.

The rubbers may be starting to wear a little. Rubbers last roughly 80 to 100 playing hours. Rub your finger across the top of the rubber and see if they are still grippy. This depends on the type and quality of rubber and also on your style. The harder and with more topspin that you hit the ball the more often you will need to change the rubber.
