Dear Alois and Jeff, what went wrong with Ding Ning's service in the Womens Singles? Why was she penalized? The same service is shown on You Tube as an example of an 'ace' in TT. I thought it clearly as an injustice to her.

Hi Vijay,

I haven't seen the match as yet.  It must have been an infringement of the rules in some way.  There are a lot of rules surrounding the service action.

Do see the Womens Final as soon as possible. I do feel Ding was being unfairly treated. And also please see her 'ace' serve on You Tube. The ball just kicks off and goes like a rocket crosscourt. More importantly I would like to request you, although I am not a Prime Member yet, to give a video answer and show how she manages to do that serve. Seems a very potent weapon indeed.

At what time in the match does she do the ace you are talking about and also when is she penalised?
