Lack of Confidence

Mental Preparation

Hi Alois and Jeff,

My major weakness is that I lose my confidence too often and too easily. The result is that I forget to place the ball, get scared to try things or attack and generally forget about match strategy and forget how people can win games and in general just feel like I don't know the game anymore. Any tips?

Cheers,

Ollie

Hi Oliver,

I think in this situation a deep breath and a quick reality check can do wonders.  Just a few seconds out to take a breath can then help you to start to focus again on the things that you need to focus on like the serve you are going to do, the placement and the speed you want to play at in the rally will soon bring things back.
