What if u throw it up and catch it with your hand ? I mean if u dont get the throw u want

That is still a fault, but many get passed this rule by saying that the point starts when they get in the service position. So if you are away from the table and not holding your bat in your starting position, many people will throw it up and catch it to test the lights. However, if you are throwing it up with the intention of serving, you have to hit the serve, otherwise it is a fault.
