Is it worth getting proper bat cleaning equipment

Does the proper cleaning stuff make a lot of difference? Or is it just fancy foam and a nice looking sponge? I tend to just use tepid water but is there a better way of keeping my traditional Chinese rubbers Tacky, and my fast rubbers grippy?

Just use the water. It will keep your bat clean.
