Hi Alois , :)

I want to ask something about increasing the rubber. Is it okay to use sunflower oil at my both rubber bats ( Butterfly Addoy 3000, about 3 months old rubber and Donic Waldner about 2 years old rubber)? As my recent bat (Addoy 3000) its rubber is suddenly decreasing to stick to the ball when I'm brushing the ball to make rapid forehand attack ( as I'm used to make that attack about 2 to 3 steps farther from the table court).

Because when I'm searching videos at Youtube, some of them suggest using sunflower oil and some of them suggest using dishwasher soap and water only.

For your opinion, what's the best to use to increase my both bats mentioned above??

Thanks for your suggestions after this :)

Hi Irfan,

I haven’t seen any evidence of sunflower oil helping.  It is best to just use water to clean your bat.

Hello Irfan,

I think that I have seen the same YouTube video about using dish washing liquid to clean off the bat.

I have been doing this for quite a while now with no adverse effects. I use Dawn Ultra dish washing liquid with warm water and a sponge. I put a very small amount of the liquid on the sponge and then get it wet with warm water. Gently wipe off the bat on both sides and then go directly to a dry towel and wipe off both sides. After that I let the bat dry for a couple of minutes and put it in a sandwich size zip lock baggie and press on the baggie to remove all the air out of it.

The next time you need to use your bat. You will notice that when you go to open the baggie, it will have stuck to the rubber's and you can see that your rubber's are very clean. Now I don't recommend this for everyone, especially those who use more expensive bats. These are specially made products for those who wish to use them.

Hope this helps,

Hello Steve,

Is it that Dawn Ultra one of Donic bat or else?? Then on your opinion in what way can I use to increase rubber in my both bats..as the oil only works on Butterfly Addoy 3000 only but not Donic..

Hope your opinion will be useful for me to practice increasing the rubbers

Irfan,

What is it you are exactly wanting to do. Preserve the rubber's or make them tacky and or sticky so you can achieve more spin on the ball?

Let me know,

Thanks,

Steve

Irfan,

Now remember I use this method of cleaning the rubber's on my bats because they are not of quality. There are cleaning foams that you can buy if you are just looking to clean up the rubber's. But what I have found is using the above method with the dish washing liquid. Then letting the bat dry and putting in a sandwich size zip lock baggie and pushing all the air out. At least for me I find the rubber's have a lot more tacitness and or stickiness to them. Again I don't recommend this method for everyone. I just know it works very well for me and I can tell the difference when using FH backspin on a serve. Or just getting better spin on the ball.

I guess the only bad thing about using this method is that you might get more dust on the bat. Because it is so sticky from the little amount residue left from the dish washing liquid. But I just wipe the bat off with my shirt every once in a while.

Again I hope that this helps.
