How important is it to be a good attacker? Can I get by if I don't have a strong enough attack?
Hi Esteban,
There are different styles that you can play apart from being a strong attacker. This game is like Chess. It is important to work out the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent and then exploit them.
There are very good players that play defensively or even as all rounders.
A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.
