Equipment
Recently I got a Hurricane 3 rubber which my dad says is very high quality. The rubber seems to stick to the ball a lot and the spin and speed seem to be inferior to my old donic baracuda rubber. Will the hurricane rubber eventually stop getting sticky or is it supposed to be sticky
Hi David,
The stickiness will decrease slightly with use. The spin is a little different feel than a less sticky rubber.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Hi David. Barracuda is a pretty spinney rubber by all accounts but H3 definitely should at least match or exceed it. However, Barracuda is a relatively non-tacky rubber while H3 is pretty tacky. Generally the tacky rubbers like H3 need greater use of the wrist to extract their spin potential. Playing with the same stroke you used for the Barracuda rubber may limit how much spin you can generate with the H3. Try adding some fast wrist action through the contact zone and see if that improves the spin.
Good luck
