Hi Aazan,
You need to use your bat like a rudder to steer the ball to the position you wish it to go. By angling your bat you can counter the sidespin.
If your opponent is a right hander and serving the pendulum serve long and fast across court into your backhand then you will need to angle your bat as if you were hitting the ball out wide to their forehand side (or even wider depending on the amount of sidespin). This way you will counter the sidespin and be able to steer the ball to the position you want.
