Hi Davide,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm glad you find our tutorials helpful. Improving the spin on your topspin shots is a fantastic way to add an extra layer of challenge for your opponents. Here are some tips to help you get that extra spin:

  1. Focus on Your Brushing Action: The quality of your topspin comes from the brushing action of your bat against the ball. Try to focus on brushing up the back of the ball using a fast, upward stroke rather than hitting through the ball. This technique enhances the friction between the ball and the bat, which increases spin.
  2. Accelerate Your Arm: The speed at which you swing your arm can significantly impact the amount of spin. A faster arm and wrist movement at the point of contact will increase the bat speed, thus enhancing the spin.
  3. Use the Right Equipment: The type of rubber on your bat can also affect spin. Typically, softer, high-tension rubbers are better for generating spin bu most importantly make sure it has grip. If you're currently using a harder or rubber without grip, consider switching to something that offers more grip and elasticity.
  4. Practice Drills Focused on Spin: Incorporate specific drills that focus on generating spin into your training sessions. For example, practice topspin against backspin drills where you focus solely on the quality of spin rather than speed or placement.

Lastly, remember that consistency is key. Regular practice focusing on these aspects will gradually improve the spin on your topspin shots. Keep at it, and you'll start noticing the difference.
