Strokes
Hey! I am new to TT and I face problems about identifying between topspin and backspin. Please help me out.
Hi Shaant,
Topspin is where the ball is rotating forward. This will get the ball to dip downwards and have a trajectory like an inverted 'U'. When the ball bounces it will kick forward off the table. Your opponent will brush upwards on the ball to get the topspin.
Backspin is where the ball is rotating backwards. The trajectory will be quite flat. The ball will bounce quite low and skid through on the table. Your opponent will brush downwards on the ball to get the backspin.
I hope this helps.
