I've played against this player and he loves spinning. I've played for around 5 hours so far and i'm getting the hang of it.

But whenever he spins the ball and does it well, when i hit it it goes miles upwards or downwards! I've adjusted it so i tap it back but still the ball goes high hitting in but giving him the chance to smash it. How can i defend it properly and well?

Hi Tom,

You need to do it lots for a start before you can get the feel of it properly.  That is why our game sis so interesting, if not at times frustrating.

Think about having a softer or more relaxed hand.  This will help to deaden the spin.

The other thing is to watch your mistakes.  This will help you in the future to correct yourself.  There is only a small marging of change in the bat angle that will achieve the desied result.  It is almost impossible to explain with angles.  You need to do it by feel and this only comes with a lot of experience.

Peresevere, it will come to you.  As you have said, in the 5 hours it has improved.  In another 5 you will be even better.
