Hello Alois and Jeff,

I just got a golfer's elbow and seems forever to heal.  What should i do to continue to improve while injured, can I train on the table or I should hit the gym more or should I rest till its fully healed.

Thank you

Hi Jonathan,

Firstly we are not medical professionals at all.  With golfer’s elbow, I wouldn’t try to play through pain. Give the irritated area time to settle, particularly if table tennis movements are making it worse.

You can still improve your game by working on:

  • Footwork and movement without hitting
  • Serve technique through shadow practice
  • Tactics and match analysis
  • Light physical conditioning that does not aggravate the elbow
  • Lower-body and core strength

Hope the elbow gets better soon.
