Hi Mada,

Dealing with a sidespin forehand topspin can be tricky, but with the right technique, you can turn it into an opportunity. Here’s how you can effectively play against this type of spin:

  • Adjust your bat angle: The sidespin will cause the ball to kick to one side when it contacts your bat. You'll need to angle your bat in the opposite direction of the spin to compensate. For example, if the spin is moving the ball to your right, angle your bat slightly to the left.
  • Brush the ball fast: Focus on brushing the ball as fast as you can with topspin and this will negate the sidespin on the ball.  If you block or contact the ball slowly the sidespin will take effect.
