Strokes
Hi Alois and Jeff,
Recently, I practice my backhand and forehand flick against the backspin/sidespin serves. I couldn't control the ball to the left side or to the right side of the table, especially the sidespin serve. It really makes me curious because I couldn't place the ball where I want to place it. Once, my father told me that I should wait for the ball to stop in the air and flick the ball. What does it mean?
Thanks a lot, Regards, Archel
Hi Archel,
Wait till the ball is at the peak of the bounce when you are making the stronger flick. This will give you a better margin over the net. To allow for the sidespin you need to angle your hand and push into the ball on contact.
