Hi Jose,

This can be a difficult ball to play.  The sidespin ball doesn't have as much topspin so you need to lift your return more than you normally would against a topspin stroke.  You also need to allow for the sidespin by angling your bat to the left or right depending on the type of sidespin they are playing.  If it is a forehand sidespin from a right hander you will need to angle your bat to your right to allow for this sidespin.

Apart form that the principles of your chop and block are the same.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

The long pimples is good for chopping on the backhand but it will take a little getting used to.
