basically long pips rubbers have more bounce off the surface....which increases with the speed of the ball coming on to your bat....while blocking try to hold your bat much looser than usual this will allow some of the incoming impact to reach your palm n wrist thereby reducing the impact on the surface itself which would result in absorption of a great deal of incoming power and the block will tend to be more accurate.
