Strokes
I have been having trouble when my opponent chops the ball to me. When they chops the ball I usually lob, But when I lob he does an attacking stroke which stops me from defending it. So how should I counter a backspin chop?
Hi Ganesh,
The best move here iis to do a topspin against the backspin ball. This is a stroke that can be learned. It is much more effective than a lob.
To learn how to do this stroke, take a look at the lesson on Forehand Loop off Backspin. This will show you how to do the stroke effectively. This is one of the most important strokes in Table Tennis because it allows you to go from defense to attack.
The pivot is where you are moving around your backhand corner to play a forehand. This is something that will come in handy in a match situation, especially if you have a stronger forehand. We will show you the best way to move in the pivot footwork.
