How can I smash a shot on slow spiny serves

Dear sir,

Hello, I am Asees here..from pakistan .. i love your teaching stuff and i am a regular viewer of your awesome videos .. i have a question sir ..

How can i smash a shot or drive on slow spiny serves close to net.. or what should i do against with those kind of serves ?

Hi Asees,

On the shorter serves it is difficult to play a strong topspin or smash.  You are better to try to make the Forehand Flick stroke.  If the ball is higher you can try the topspin but if it is low and short it will be too difficult.

If it's short you won't be able to take a full swing at the ball and hence will need to use either a push or a flick to return the ball.
