I am really not able to adjust my arm backhand and forehand both specially on a little bit high ball. How can i improve it.

Hi Nikhil,

With high balls I often see players miss the ball not really because of the arm, but because of their position. You need to get into position early and this will make the stroke much easier. Watch our video on the Forehand Smash and let me know if this helps you out.

The backhand smash is an awkward shot and I recommend that you move around and play a forehand smash.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

You should use topspin on those balls.  You don't have to hit them hard just put topspin on them and get them deep.
