Hello Coach

I am able to vary the height of my table tennis table. I know the standard height is 76 cm, but is it a good idea to lower the table for my 8 year old so that it's at the same relative height an adult would be playing?

Regards

Hi Paul,

That is a great idea.  It will help him to develop his strokes properly rather than having his elbow up above his head to play his shots.

It is a concept we try with younger students by using their classroom desks to play rather than a Table Tennis table.

Let me know how it goes for him.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
