Last days im playing against a player that is better than me, that's clear she is playing 6 or 7 years, anyway i'm an ofensive player and i want to get better playing against this kind of players.

She is not ofensive til i attack, she is doing always heavy pushes, they has no arc, it's a line cause they has a lot of backspin and are fast pushes, it's the heaviest pushes i have always seen, so when i try to topspin them my % of certains is very low, maybe I fail the 40% of my tries so i cant atack her good... and when i success atacking here comes another problem:

She waits until i atack for do heavy blocks, dont matter if i give a lot or less spin, that's not problem for her, she uses my spin to give me a very fast ball blocking, and i almost have no time to do another topspin, and if i sucess doing another topspin it becomes in a very fast game cause however i do she always play close to the table and has a lot of reflexes...

What I could do? She is one of the best players in my club, and I know i still must practice to win, but anyway i would like to hear what you would do against this kind of player cause i dont know what to do.

Hi Francisco,

The key is to develop your Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  Take a look at the video in our free lessons on this.

Next is to think about variations.  No matter how good the player if you can vary the speed, spin and placement of your topspins it will always be difficult.  You have to persevere with this.  Even if they make the first return you need to keep putting the ball on the table with variations.  You will find that the variation is what will win you the points.  Close to the table blockers like the ball coming to them fast and the same so that they can get into a rhythm.  they don't like it when the have variations to deal with.
