Equipment
Hello Alois,
I had a balanced (weight) bat that I really liked so I bought the exact same setup, and the new one was head-heavy (the blade itself was balanced, but the rubbers made it head-heavy). Although I find balanced bats to be more comfortable, is a head-heavy bat better for attacking?
Are head-heavy, handle-heavy, or balanced bats better for any specific playing styles, or is it just purely a matter of preference?
Hi,
There is no rules here with the weights or distribution of weights of rackets.
It really is a personal preference as to what works best for you. The extra weight or effect of the weight is minimal compared to the technique of your strokes.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
