It's been a week since I joined a training center. The first thing we do is counter-hit but the problem is that my penhold's just too spinny with the wrist bending too much and imparting spin on the ball even with a little movement. The coach says that i should be moving my hand forward but no matter how hard i try it's still the same.  Same goes with the multiballs..........my racket's always almost parallel to the ground I can't get it to flatten. Please help me how can i correct my wrist.

Hi Sandesh,

It is important to get this right.  Try to get your racket into the right start position while you are not hitting.  It is possible to get your bat into this position physically so you need to find the feeling when your bat is in that position.  Do this away for the table.  It is also good if you do this with your eyes closed so that you get more in touch with the feeling.  then slowly try to replicate it while hitting the ball.

Start really slowly and then speed up slowly.

Thank you for the tip. I did what you said and pretty much to my disappointment, i still impart spin on the ball. And time and again my strokes keep going wrong..........but i'll keep trying not to spin the ball ....i really am not going to give up until i get it right.
