Strokes
Hi coach,
i recently saw a game between two top class players. One flick and the other looped.
To me it sounded like more of a flat hit instead of a loop. Is it just cuz it was really fast or is it very a flat hit
Thanks
Hi Mat,
It may have been a fast contact where they were getting a flatter contact but still generating a lot of spin. It may also have been a softer rubber that they were using that made that sound.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

Oh i see thanks. But how do u get a flat hit with spin?
It is a matter of degrees of each. You can get more spin and less flat or more flat and less spin.
