Hi,

I just get two new rubbers,Joola Rhyzm-P 2.0 and Joola Maxxx-p 2.0. The blade that I want to use is 5-ply allwood blade Yasaka Sweden Extra. Since this two rubbers are 45 and 42 spoonge hardness I wonder should I go for stiffer blade.I have good offer for another 5-ply allwood blade,Gewo Zoom Balance ALL+ or Gewo Zoom Pro OFF- (witch is simillar to Butterfly Primorac OFF-,very popular in Croatia, but it is hard to get Japanes version of that blade),or I should stay to YSE ? I was using previously Yasaka Mark V rubbers with YSE but now as my game goes up I want to try something faster so I want to know is my blade good for this rubbers, will I got the full potencial.

Thanks for the answer !

Hi Bero,

I would stay with the same blade and just change the rubber initially.  If you then feel that you want to change the blade then you can.

Hi Bero.  Why did you select those particular rubbers?  If you are just looking for more speed and spin than the Mark V delivers, but you still want to retain the feel and control you have, I agree with Alois - stick with the YSE initially.  Once you feel you have pushed that combination to the limit you can either go for even faster rubbers on the YSE or change to a slightly faster blade with the same rubbers.

Bero,

You can spend years trying new rubbers on new blades and it can become an addiction! I think the above from Alois and Rohan is very good advice. The right blade the right rubbers can make a difference but overall, technique, training, mental toughness and a relaxed action will count for far more. Good players at my club can use my bat and play amazing shots, then I use it and it might as well be a fish! (N.B. I have never actually tried using a fish, maybe if I put sticky rubbers on it.......)
