Forehand TS contact point

Strokes

Hi there,

I´m struggling with my forehand again and what seemed easy is a problem now. I noticed that the contact point is inconsistent particularly when I´m hitting faster topspins and depending on the time I have to reach the ball, the trajectory or the height. So could you please give me a hint where I should ideally hit the ball ("northpole", "equator" or between) when I counter a topspin or hit a slower no-spin-ball?

Thanks

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

The contact point on the ball will vary depending on the type of stroke coming to you.  If you remember the principle that the more topspin the closer to the North pole that you should hit it.

If you brush the ball rally fast though, you will find that where you hit the ball will not matter as much as long as you are generating a lot of topspin yourself.
