What are some tips on getting the ball on the table when you do a forehand smash rather than it flying over the table?

Hi Ryan,

One of the keys is position.  In the time the ball is up in the air you need to get your feet into position correctly.

YOu still can put a little topspin on the ball when you hit the smash.

Make sure you are getting the ball at around shoulder to head high.  This will give you the best chance to get good speed and also get the ball on the table.  If you find the ball is always flying off the end, slow the shot down for a while and get the range so that the ball goes on the table.  As you develop the confidence you can then speed the shot up.

Take a look at the lesson we have on the Forehand Smash for more help.
